They have three children, Ryan 18, Liam 13, and Roisin 10. They are active in sports, music and theatre, like their Dad. Roger is a Vice President and Financial Consultant with AXA Advisors in Scottsdale, AZ, specializing in retirement and estate planning. He is a Certified Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) and provides educational seminars on Philanthropy and Planned Giving for several non-profit organizations in the NY Metro and greater Phoenix area. In 2007, Roger was awarded the Barry M Lofquist Memorial Award, recognizing his community service and dedication to the Company and Industry. In 2005, Roger was elected to the South Orangetown Central School District Board of Education. He served for one year, until moving his residence to Anthem, AZ; however, in late 2006, he founded the newly formed SOCSD Education Foundation, of which he remains the Executive Director. Mr. DeBonis served as an instructor for the Lentz & Lentz SAT Math Prep course offered at Tappan Zee High School in 2004 and 2005. Roger was very active in the community as a Little League Baseball Coach and parishioner at St. Catharine Church, where he served as a member of the Parish Council since 2003, a lector since 1994, and Facilitator for Child Sexual Abuse prevention sessions for the Archdiocese of New York in 2003-04. He also directed a play honoring the Passion of Jesus on Good Friday, featuring the teenagers of the Parish. Roger has also served on several Executive Boards and Committees, including the Futures in Education Foundation, which provides Catholic School scholarships for needy children in Brooklyn and Queens, and the Bishop Molloy Passionist Retreat House in Jamaica, Queens. Roger graduated from Catholic University of America in 1984 with a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering. He received a Certificate as a Retirement Planning Specialist in March of 2007, as part of a joint effort with AXA Advisors and the Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania. He also worked as a basketball official in several conferences from 1997-2006 as a member of the Collegiate Basketball Officials Association, Metro New York. Since moving to Anthem, AZ in 2006, Roger is a member of the High Desert Little League Board and is involved as a planned giving consultant to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Scottsdale. He has also been actively involved with the fundraising efforts of Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock Foundation, which plans to break ground on The Rock Teen Center at Grand Canyon University. The Catholic Community of St. Rose Parish in Anthem is happy to have Roger serve as Lector Ministry Head and member of Knights of Columbus. Roger has also been Asst. Coach for DHYFL Wolfpack Youth Football since 2008. |
