Fire Prevention

Plan Review Requirements

All plans and specifications for new commercial construction, remodeling, and
alterations within the Daisy Mountain Fire District (DMFD) shall be submitted to the
Department for review and approval prior to any construction. The plans will be
reviewed with the approval and recommendations forwarded to the Maricopa County
Planning and Development. Plans to comply with the 2003 I.F.C.

Submittal information shall include, but is not limited to the following:

1. A copy of the Maricopa County Building Permit.

2. Fire Flow requirements for building and Fire Protection Systems required. Plans for
Fire Protection Systems require an Engineering or N.I.C.E.T. approval

3. A copy of the county approved drawings including all buildings, fire lanes and
access roads.

4. Drawing sheets to be the same size (“C”Size 24”x36” Preferred.)

5. A single 8-1/2” x 11 drawing of each. Buildings floor plan showing intended use of
each room

6. Location of Main Fire Alarm control panel, Knox Lock Box, and Fire Sprinkler Risers.

7. Location of emergency lighting and exit signs, Fire Extinguisher locations, Emergency Exit Plan and Occupancy Load
